Dear friends of the paranormal!
Most investigators in Europe now own one or more devices from our shop and consistently delight us with positive feedback and success stories! However, we would like to explicitly point out that parapsychology is not a recognized science and that all devices, regardless of their origin, cannot guarantee successful transcommunication and should therefore be considered experimental.

We strongly advise mentally unstable individuals against conducting paranormal experiments!

We advise that individuals with mental health issues should refrain from paranormal investigations, as this can lead to emotional distress. Similarly, working with paranormal research equipment can be disturbing and have undesirable negative effects on one's psyche. Therefore, paranormal investigations should only be conducted by individuals with a stable mental state who are capable of handling potentially disturbing phenomena. Please take this warning seriously to protect your own mental well-being.

Welcome to the self-help guide for the Kinect SLS camera!

The Kinect is generally a very stable device.

In some cases, however, malfunctions can occur. This guide shows you how to easily resolve them and potentially save yourself the hassle of a return shipment.

Possible error:
The Kinect playback window is briefly displayed and then closes repeatedly.
Please now follow these instructions:

1)
Check that the inserted batteries are also new.

If you have already inserted new batteries, please try a different set of new batteries.

Sometimes, even with brand new batteries, there is the problem that one of them may have a good voltage, but this voltage collapses under load.

Testing devices for home use are only able to test the voltage, but not the load capacity.

It is possible that the testing device might classify a defective battery as "good".

If the first step did not resolve the problem, please follow the next step.

Please check the USB port.
Please unplug the Kinect's USB connector from the tablet and check it for contamination.

Clean the connection with compressed air if necessary.

If the problem persists, please place the USB connector between your thumb and forefinger and squeeze it together with appropriate force.

This will cause the metal of the USB connector to bulge inwards on one side.

This ensures better contact with the tablet. The USB connector will now be slightly more difficult to plug into the tablet.
If this step still hasn't resolved the problem, please proceed to step 3.

3)
Unplug the Kinect sensor from the tablet.
Click on the search box or the magnifying glass in the taskbar.
Enter "sys" in the field. The "Control Panel" app will be suggested.

Please open the Control Panel and search for "Device Manager".

Please open the Device Manager and search for "USB Controller".

Click on the small arrow on the left side.

Then, in the Control Panel, at the very top, please click on "View" and then on "Show hidden devices".

Then return to the still open entry, "USB Controller".

You will probably now see some entries that appear in light blue.

Right-click on each of the light blue entries in turn and select "Uninstall driver".

Repeat the process until all light blue entries have disappeared.

Now restart the tablet.

Reconnect the Kinect to the tablet.

Start your Kinect software.

The sensor may now briefly close one or two more times.

This is because the drivers are now being reinstalled.
Your Kinect sensor should now be working, as a rule.
